ESP Variable Speed Drive - Medium Voltage

The ESP variable speed drive designed for submersible oil electric pumps has an automated system for increasing production efficiency in its arsenal. This system is an intelligent solution for optimizing oil production.

Variable Speed Drive (VSD) EPS series is designed to control and protect electric submersible and surface pumps with Asychronous induction and permanent magnet motors. NIETZ EPS VSD solution combines unique technical characteristics, the highest operating qualities, and excellent reliability.

Features

Variable speed drives (VSDs) are used to control electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems and surface pumps. They enable adjustments to be made to production parameters and ESP output when downhole conditions change. Increasing and decreasing motor speed can be used to optimize pump performance, speed or slow production, and avoid gas locking and system cycling. VSDs protect pumps and motors by reducing electrical stress on startup and by adjusting to dynamic conditions as they change. The ability to vary the drive speed reduces the need to replace components, cuts downtime, and lowers costs while improving system runlife.

The correct setting of the mode and timely adjustment of the ESP operation determines not only the daily flow rate of the well, but also other economic indicators of its operation. These include reliability, safety, energy efficiency, etc.

The dedicated special algorithms of VSDs operational system strengthen resources of oil production Companies, significantly save the time of service engineers and contribute to the growth of oil industry. EPS VSDs helps oil and oilfield service companies receive the maximum benefit.

Specifications

The dedicated low-voltage variable frequency drive (VFD) for ESPs is specifically engineered for submersible pump frequency conversion applications. Designed to address the unique load characteristics of ESP systems, this series adopts a two-level inverter + output sine wave filter architecture combined with a high-performance V/f control algorithm, ensuring stable and reliable operation of ESP units under variable-frequency drive conditions. Control system software helps you reduce power and downtime costs while optimizing production.
To meet diverse user requirements, the drive incorporates specialized startup, control, and protection functions tailored for challenging well conditions, including:

● Sandy wells with difficult startup due to sediment accumulation
● Gassy wells experiencing significant load fluctuations
● Heavy oil wells with high-viscosity fluid loads

These enhancements ensure superior adaptability when paired with ESP systems in complex downhole environments.
